There are four top-level appointments, all with free admission, the first of which is scheduled for next Saturday, November 22nd at the Mother Seton Church in Lavagna square
The appointment with the Rassegna di Polifonia Città di Livorno is renewed, organized by the Coro Rodolfo del Corona in co-participation with the Municipality of Livorno, under the direction of Maestro Luca Stornello.
This year, the Rassegna reaches its XXII edition, a significant milestone, a sign of continuous and tenacious commitment in favor of the diffusion of quality polyphonic culture, rewarded over the years by an ever-growing audience and by the interest of public and private institutions. Four high-level appointments are planned, all with free admission, the first of which is scheduled next Saturday, November 22 at the Seton Mother Church in Piazza Lavagna.
The initiative was presented today at the Town Hall. Among others, the Councilor for Tourism Rocco Garufo, the artistic director of the Goldoni Foundation Emanuele Gamba, the artistic director of the Rassegna di Polifonia Luca Stornello, the president of the Coro Rodolfo Del Corona and organizational manager of the event Marinella Viscusi, and the manager of the diocesan Caritas Giusy D’Agostino were present.
Councilor Garufo and director Gamba expressed great satisfaction with the collaboration between the municipal administration and the Goldoni Theater with the polyphonic choir Del Corona for the success of this very high-level music festival, which with great efforts and remarkable skills the Association manages to carry out year after year. The Rassegna di Polifonia Città di Livorno has become a highly sought-after event nationally and internationally, with choral formations representing high-level artistic expressions. “One of the ways – as Garufo said – in which we manage to promote Livorno in the sign of quality, enriching our wide cultural and artistic offer and becoming a lever for the promotion of the city.”
“After years in which we have tried to highlight the female and youthful presence – as Maestro Stornello said – in this edition, for a sort of balancing act, the Rassegna winks at the male vocal range: the program of events will in fact be opened and closed by two very different male formations, a large choir and a small vocal ensemble. However, the female presence will not be lacking, in the person of Maestro Roberta Paraninfo who will embellish the event with her Choir Sibi Consoni, the fresh absolute winner of the International Competition of Arezzo, a result that places this formation among the most important of the moment, well beyond national borders. From abroad comes the vocal quintet that will close the program, in an effort to broaden horizons in search of new and interesting realities. The Rassegna is confirmed as a true season dedicated to quality vocal polyphony, a now consolidated and well-known event that makes Livorno a reference for enthusiasts of this musical genre.”
Polyphony and Solidarity: also for the XXII Edition of the Rassegna, the Association Coro Rodolfo Del Corona has established a collaboration with the Caritas Foundation and the Caritas of Livorno. At the end of each concert, the Caritas Foundation Livorno and Caritas Livorno will present projects promoted by them in favor of those who, in our territory, experience situations of hardship.
All concerts have free admission, in the spirit of maximum diffusion of culture that has animated the organizers of this Rassegna from the beginning.
In addition to the active presence of the Municipality of Livorno, the initiative is sponsored by the Livorno Foundation, the Goldoni Foundation, the Tuscany Region, the Province of Livorno, the Diocese of Livorno, and the Rectorate of the Cathedral. The Rassegna is also supported by: LEM Foundation, ACT-FENIARCO Association of Tuscan Choirs, “Quartieri Uniti Eco-Solidali” Association, Hotel Ariston, Sillabe Publishing House, Borgo dei Greci Association, Caritas Livorno, Simurg, Editasca, Northern Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority.
