Concert with interpretations of Italian songs influenced by blues, soul, and jazz.
In 2022 wood and metal merge. The Cello (Martina Benifrei) and the Trumpet (Filippo Ceccarini) come together to rediscover pure, analog, ancient, and familiar sounds, trying to bring close distant bodies but with lightness, pushing beyond the mathematics of common places, beyond the idea, to embrace the sound. They do it in an essential way, through original compositions and some adaptations of songs that have helped to paint the ‘900 with a focus on the expressive connection between African-American music and Italian music. Voice and percussion will also join the concert.
“African-American Voices and Rhythms: the power of women in music” is a journey into female creativity through the expressive power of blues, soul, jazz, and their contamination with Italian music. Each evening will be characterized by a different musical group, offering an immersive experience and celebrating the women who have made history in these genres.
