A concert in memory of Domenico Papalini

It has been 14 years since his sudden passing, but the memory of Domenico Papalini is still alive in those who knew him and in those who could appreciate his undisputed human and professional qualities. A rare figure, active and proactive in work, solidarity, and cultural activities that he always pursued with passion: the list of realities, institutions, associations where Domenico left his mark, discreet but strong and profound at the same time, would be really long.
As every year, the “R. Del Corona” Choir organizes an event in his memory: for this edition, the Concert for Domenico – which will take place on Saturday, June 14th at 9 pm at the new Church of Santa Lucia in via Urano Sarti 89 – will see the participation of the “Quarta Eccedente” Choir of Vaiano, directed by maestro Fabio Cavaciocchi and the “Vincenzo Galilei” Choir of the Scuola Normale di Pisa, directed by maestro Gabriele Micheli, also a friend of Domenico and always present at events dedicated to him. For this edition, an important collaboration for the promotion of the event has been established with the Vivi Antignano Association of the Eco Solidarity Neighborhoods network.
The evening promises to be very interesting in the variety of musical proposals from the participating formations. The proposal of the “Vincenzo Galilei” choir will focus on spiritual madrigals in the Renaissance, with a fascinating parallel between the different interpretations of Palestrina and De Rore. Quarta Eccedente will offer an excursus between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, passing from historical authors to traditions that nod to ethnic and pop music. The Del Corona Choir, directed by maestro Luca Stornello, will open the concert with some a cappella pieces from their repertoire.
A truly rich and varied evening, in the sign of friendship and beautiful music, with the different voices of the choirs that will enhance the interesting acoustic characteristics of the church.
