Stefano Dentone is a musician originally from the Ligurian Riviera, but transplanted to Livorno. Singer-songwriter, singer, and guitarist, he has had experiences both in Italy and in Europe and the U.S.A. After years spent studying and playing rock’n’roll in the “underground” circuit Italian clubs, in 2002 he self-produced the first album with original songs. Over the years, fifteen more albums will follow, both solo and with various collaborations. Very active in live activity which, over the years, has seen him participate in important festivals and / or events and play as the opening act for major international artists. In 2020, he assembled a band that accompanies him in concerts and recording works. The Sundance Family Band is composed of Chiara Cavalli (violin), Francesco Coppedè (double bass), Marco Fontana (electric guitar), Valentina Fortunati (mandolin and banjo), Filippo Meloni (drums and percussion). In early June 2022, “Sunday Ranch” was released, a work that outlines the country/blues sound of the new band and in which the influences of American folk music are very strong. In 2024, a second album was released, titled “Growin’ Up Blues”, which continues the discourse of sound and content of the previous work.
“African-American Voices and Rhythms: the power of women in music” is a journey into female creativity through the expressive power of blues, soul, jazz, and their contamination with Italian music. Each evening will be characterized by a different musical group, offering an immersive experience and celebrating the women who have made history in these genres.
