Poliphony Review: on stage the choir Sibi Consoni

Important appointment for the Polyphony Festival “Città di Livorno”, an event organized by the Choir “R. Del Corona” in cooperation with the Municipality of Livorno and under the artistic direction of Maestro Luca Stornello. On Saturday 24th at 9 pm in the Church of San Ferdinando in Crocetta, in Piazza del Luogo Pio, the choir Sibi Consoni from Genoa, conducted by Maestra Roberta Paraninfo, will perform. The Genoese formation boasts a rich palmares that culminates in the recent victory at the international Grand Prix of Arezzo, where it outperformed choirs from all over the world, establishing itself as a excellence in the international field. For Maestra Paraninfo, a renowned director and teacher in the world of choral training (she is the founder of the Vocal Academy of Genoa which deals with choral training from childhood to adulthood culminating with Sibi Consoni), this is a very welcome return, since several years ago she was a guest of the Festival with the Genova Vocalensemble. The concert program is rich and profound, starting from Renaissance music, passing through various themes culminating in a section entitled “Cries of the world”: it is an invitation to reflect on the condition of human beings in this particular moment where, faced with a more pronounced individualism, the ability to deeply listen, the ability to make space for silence and to welcome the cries that rise from different parts of our world seems to struggle. Music, song, have the power to provoke reflections using a language that is not of everyday life, that can speak more deeply to each individual. For this project, inspired by “Cries of London” by Luciano Berio, pieces composed specifically by contemporary authors will be performed: “The cry”, by Camilla Andrea Piovano, and “Eternity”, by Federica Lo Pinto. A concert that promises to be of the highest artistic level and of great interest not only musically, a truly rare opportunity that confirms the quality recognized by the best vocal formations at the Polyphony Festival. The Caritas Livorno Foundation will be present at the event for the established collaboration with the Association Coro Rodolfo Del Corona A.P.S. The public is invited, admission is free.
