Book presentation: Bumerang. The new investigation of Commissioner Del Gaudio

Scampia, December 8. A girl is walking in the neighborhood when her dog, Colt, is killed by a shot fired from a distance by a precision rifle, apparently for no reason. That bullet opens the way to a trail of blood and mysteries in the heart of North Naples. Commissioner Mirco Del Gaudio, recovering from a bad accident, returns to duty and finds himself investigating that strange case just as the Carlino and Monfrecola clans are about to unleash a new Camorra war. In a Naples suspended between dust and suspicion, Del Gaudio tries to rebuild his own family while chasing the meaning of events: a viral video, a seemingly elusive sniper, forays into the margins of an abandoned city, arrests, shooting and a Christmas stained by a double homicide. When the investigation seems to have reached a dead end, the truth will show all its ferocity.

Daniele Sanzone signs a tight-paced urban noir that challenges stereotypes about criminal Naples. An investigation inside and outside the law, where truth never has a single face and justice comes disguised as revenge.

Daniele Sanzone (Naples, 1978) is author and voice of the rock band ‘A67. He has written for “Il Fatto Quotidiano,” “la Repubblica,” “Style,” “Donna Moderna” and the “Corriere del Mezzogiorno.” As an author, he has worked for Fanpage.it and TvLoft. He edited several anthologies before making his debut with the book Camorra sound (2014), translated into French, winner of the 19th Paolo Borsellino award. Together with Claudio Poggi, he wrote Pino Daniele. Terra Mia (2017). In 2023, he published his debut novel, Madre Dolore, the first investigation of Commissioner Del Gaudio. In 2024, he edited the collection of stories Nemesi d’amore e di anarchia.
