The Palio is not just a race, but a collective ritual, a moment of identity and belonging that involves the entire city. The race will take place in the water mirror in front of Terrazza Mascagni
The Marinaro Palio is the rowing race par excellence that has its roots in the history of the city and its indissoluble connection with the sea. Eight city districts compete with strokes of the oar on boats with ten oars, in a 2000-meter course in the water in front of Antignano, between buoys and breathtaking turns. The competition is the result of months of training and sacrifice, lived in the Cantine – the symbolic places of the nautical sections – where the rowers refine technique, harmony and team spirit. The Palio is not just a race, but a collective ritual, a moment of identity and belonging that involves the whole city. Among chants, flags, families in celebration and boats following the race closely, a unique spectacle, where popular tradition and sportsmanship merge in an authentic celebration of Livornese culture.
