Nervi live @The Cage

A few days before the release of his first album, which came out on November 29th for Pioggia Rossa Dischi, The Cage and Musicus Concentus bring singer-songwriter Nervi to the stage of the theater. The collaboration between the two cultural realities, which gave birth to the My Generation showcase, continues to offer emerging artists the important opportunity to play in one of Italy’s most prestigious live clubs, while promoting live music listening among the youngest. This time it’s an artist who is slowly carving out a decent (and deserved) success. Born from the underground scene in Florence, Nervi combines carefully constructed lyrics with pop sounds infused with dark and glam elements: the attempt is to explore the contrast between the aspirations for greatness typical of youth and the restricted reality imposed by the fragmented and individualistic urban fabric of contemporary society. In 2020, Nervi wins both the Primo Maggio Next, Musica da Bere, and the Premio Buscaglione. In 2022 he participates in the most coveted talent show of all, X-Factor, and in 2023 he reaches the final of the music festival in Macerata, Musicultura. The current year marks a new artistic chapter, with the release of the singles La noia mortale, Non ho sete, Bevi troppo, and Quanto è difficile amarsi in una grande città and the release of the first album, E poi svegliarsi presto. An open, reflective letter addressed to those same young people who share with the author the difficult search for authenticity, suspended between nostalgia for the golden world of youth that, inevitably, slips away as one grows up, and frustration for the complexity and contradictions of an increasingly sharpened society. An equally sharp and incisive work, permeated by a deep and inevitable melancholy. “In this album – explains Nervi – there is the relationship of a generation with cities, drugs, fun, freedom, love, guilt, and failure. Like a small portrait of that age when you can no longer be everything, but you are not yet anything defined. I want to sing about the small things, what we leave aside, what goes unnoticed, what we feel we don’t need. The insignificant, the meticulous, the invisible.“
