Manu Chao has always been considered one of the freest artists, not conforming to market rules, an authentic point of reference in the international music scene. With Mano Negra first and then as a solo artist, he has written milestones of rock, folk, and alternative music and has inspired millions of musicians around the globe, recently also the young and talented Alfa, with whom he released the single “I Like It”, which has already become the summer hit in Italy and has entered the charts of the most listened singles in France, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, and Austria.

Over the years, he has been the protagonist of memorable concerts in Italy, able to attract thousands of people who share music and ideals with him. His relationship with our country is truly special and this year Manu Chao has decided to return for new appointments that will turn into real parties for everyone, singing the great anthems of his career: from “Mala Vida” to “Clandestino”, passing through “Próxima Estación: Esperanza” to the latest album “Viva Tu”.

Manu Chao was born in Paris to Spanish parents who fled to France to escape the Spanish dictatorship. He spent his childhood surrounded by artists on the run, who often found refuge in his parents’ home. In the mid-80s, he founded Mano Negra and with them began to make his mark in the music world: singing in French, English, and Spanish, merging different cultures and styles ranging from reggae to rock, from rap to Iberian music. In 1998 with Clandestino came worldwide success. It is his solo debut, whose themes are escape and human rights and in which African and South American rhythms dominate. Clandestino achieved worldwide fame and represents for many young people a symbol of social and civil commitment that music can have and of which he has become a bearer. To this day, Manu Chao remains one of the freest and most nonconformist personalities, a musical and cultural icon, a citizen of the world who inspires multiple generations.
