I SING THE ANGER THAT MAKES ME

Stories of humanity and subversion

by Tiziano Arrigoni

I libri di Mompracem Editions

The literary meetings organized by the Library of the Vespucci – Colombo Institute resume. The first appointment, Friday, October 10th at 9.00 PM in the main hall of the headquarters in Piazza Vigo. At the center of the meeting is the book by Tiziano Arrigoni CANTO LA RABBIA CHE MI FA, just released by the publisher “I libri di Mompracem”.

The event, in collaboration with Erasmo Libri, is coordinated by Michele Cecchini.

The book places events within Italian society at the beginning of the twentieth century through two parallel stories. The anarchist Luigi, a blacksmith, then a porter and penniless fishmonger, on the coastal coast of Tuscany, is labeled as a subversive. At the same time, the anarchist Biagio, born in Marseille to Tuscan emigrants, also a Tuscan from the coast, crosses paths with the history of Mussolini.

The vocabulary defines subversive as that which aims to overthrow the established order. The subversive is dangerous because he is unpredictable, outside of established norms, impulsive, violent in words and sometimes ready for physical confrontation. Willing to sacrifice oneself, to condition one’s own life for a cause, often a dreamer and bound to face defeat.

Tiziano Arrigoni, through archival documents, reconstructs the story of two anonymous subversives in Italy during the first thirty years of the twentieth century.

Tiziano Arrigoni was born in Massa Marittima, Tuscany. A high school teacher, he writes stories of the past and present world. He is the author of numerous works predominantly of a historical nature, including: “La dinamite nella valigia. Viaggio nell’Italia di Luciano Bianciardi”, “Hollywood in Maremma”, “In fondo a sinistra. ‘900. Storie e passioni di gente comune”, “Garibaldini. L’ultima impresa”.
