On October 25, 2025, at 4:00 PM, a tasty and educational event for children returns to Livorno: “One, two, three… Cecio!”, the initiative by La Vetrina dei Piccoli organized by Vetrina Toscana as part of the project Notes on Travel between Culture and Food.
The event, scheduled at the Slow Food Headquarters in via Calafati 7 (Porto Mediceo), proposes three recipes based on one of the most versatile and nutritious legumes that Mother Nature has given us: chickpeas.
From the classic and intercultural hummus, to the traditional Livornese chickpea cake, to the most curious and delicious ceciotella – the healthy and artisanal version of the famous spreadable cream – the young participants will discover how much culinary richness hides behind a food often considered “poor”.
Among doughs, scents, and tastings, the workshop will help children understand the value of genuine cuisine, the origin of ingredients, and local gastronomic culture in a fun and practical way.
The initiative is dedicated to children aged 6 to 10 years, who will be directly involved in the preparation and tasting of the dishes.
Participation has a cost of 10 euros per child, while accompanying adults can participate for free.
The workshop, which lasts about two hours, has no particular culinary difficulties and will end with a small tasting of the preparations made.
Availability is limited to a maximum of 25 children, with mandatory booking by Friday, October 24th.
The meeting is realized in collaboration with Slow Food Livorno Chapter and La Bottega di Campagna Amica.
