The Jazzing for Peace – Festival 2024 continues, a musical journey towards the integration of peoples organized by the association Rasenna Music Art. On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 9pm, at the Museum of Natural History of the Mediterranean in Livorno, the concert Peace Flowers – R J M duo with Max Fantolini, piano, and Giulio Boschi, double bass will be held.
The two Livornese artists have been collaborating for fourteen years in various formations, in quartet, trio, and duo in the group Rasenna Jazz Messengers Duo. This explains their always complete and unambiguous conduct, both at an interpretative level and in improvisation. Their jazz can have blues, romantic atmospheres, or be more dynamic and energetic, expressing the modernity of current times, with classical, ironic, carefree, or tributes to jazz greats. Drawing from their vast repertoire, on Wednesday they propose pieces by Giulio Boschi dedicated to peace and flowers, which are the symbol.
After the success of the two previous concerts, Triple sec and What a wonderful world, where the language of origins has been skillfully reworked by the trio, Peace Flowers represents a current jazz in which music aims to express those emotions that restore a sense of humanity, against the current practice that robotizes every behavior, especially during war.
Indeed, the path that the two Livornese artists propose to today’s audience includes the hardships and pain we are experiencing, but also the positivity and hope that jazz, since its birth, has been able to express with its vitality.
