At Old Fortress the exhibition “Angels – Expressions of Art”

From 9 to 17 September the Old Fortress of Livorno hosts the event “Angeli – Expressions of Art on display” in the Piaggione dei Grani hall, a fascinating journey dedicated to the angelic world. A unique opportunity to admire unpublished works capable of surprising and moving, alongside copies of paintings inspired by the great masters who have represented these mysterious figures over the centuries.

The exhibition, for the first time in Livorno, offers a dual perspective: on one hand reproductions of historical masterpieces, on the other hand contemporary interpretations that offer new visions of the divine messengers. A journey through the spiritual imagery of East and West, between tradition and artistic innovation.

To enrich the calendar, there are meetings and workshops dedicated to the deepening of angelic symbolism. On Friday 13 September at 5:30 pm, Professor Franco Naldoni, a scholar of Egyptology and Dante studies, will hold the conference “Divine Comedy: Book of Angels”, followed by an inaugural aperitif. On Saturday 14 September, also at 5:30 pm, Silvia Gasparrini, an iconographer from Siena and a teacher at the School of Sacred Art in Florence, will lead the meeting “The Angelic Hierarchies”.

The exhibition will be open from 9 to 17 September, with daily opening from 17:00 to 21:00. On Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays it will also be possible to visit in the morning, with continuous hours from 10:00 to 21:00.
