“In campo” is the title of the beautiful film festival organized by Cinema Teatro 4 Mori, in collaboration with Europa Cinema – Creative Europe Medias, Cineagenzia, and Ultimo Uomo, and scheduled from Monday, May 13th to Tuesday, May 28th. Three events focused on the theme of soccer, both male and female: on Monday, May 13th at 8.30 pm, “Copa 71” will be performed, a documentary by Rachel Ramsay and James Erskine that follows the events of the 1971 Women’s World Cup; on Monday, May 20th at 9 pm, it will be the turn of “The home game,” an Icelandic sports documentary by Smári Gunnarsson and Logi Sigursveinsson; and finally on Tuesday, May 28th at 6.30 pm, the screening of “Allihopa – The Dalkurd story,” the story of a group of Kurdish refugees rising in the Swedish rankings directed by Kordo Doski. But the surprises do not end here.
On the occasion of the first film on Monday, May 13th, there will be a meeting with prestigious guests at 8.30 pm to discuss one of the most debated topics of recent times, that of women’s sports. Speaking on the topic, moderated by journalist Giulia Bellaveglia, will be Sandy Iannella, former player of the Italian national team and current coach of the youth male Pontedera Calcio, Monica Bellandi, president of the organizing committee Coppa Barontini, and Alessio Ciampi, General Manager of Livorno Calcio Woman. These are the plots of the films: “Copa 71” – Told by the pioneering women who participated, the extraordinary story of the 1971 Women’s World Cup, a tournament witnessed by a record number of spectators that has been erased from sports, until now; “The home game,” a charming loser’s tale about an Icelandic man’s clumsy attempt to fulfill his father’s failed mission: to finally get a home game for their beloved fishing village on the unused field he had built 25 years earlier; “Allihopa – The Dalkurd story,” the inspiring story of the Dalkurd Football Club, a fragmented group of Kurdish refugees in Sweden climbing the rankings of the Swedish soccer leagues in hopes of becoming champions and bringing glory and attention to their stateless people.
