MASCAGNI’S Saturday

The Pietro Mascagni Conservatory of Livorno is pleased to announce the third edition of “Il Sabato del Mascagni”, the concert season dedicated to its best students. Under the artistic direction of Giovanni Nesi, the 2025 edition promises a series of unmissable events that will take place every Saturday from January 25th to May 3rd, at 4:30 PM, at the Cesare Chiti Auditorium of the Livorno Conservatory. Admission is free.

This year, the season stands out for a programming of 14 concerts, enriched by the variety of chamber music and by focuses dedicated to the piano and the solo violin. Among the most anticipated novelties are the opening and closing concerts of the Strings Orchestra of the Mascagni Conservatory, directed by Chiara Morandi, which will start and conclude the season with two evenings dedicated to the great classical tradition. Furthermore, the “Guest Star” concert on March 1st stands out, a new initiative devised by Giovanni Nesi which includes the participation of renowned musicians alongside the Conservatory students.
This year, the guest will be Alberto Bocini, an internationally acclaimed double bass player, who will perform Beethoven’s famous Septet. Equally interesting will be the concert by the Conservatory Percussion Ensemble, scheduled for April 12th, offering premieres of works specifically written for the event, in collaboration with the “Unheard Sounds” festival.
The first appointment, scheduled for January 25th, will see the Strings Orchestra of the Mascagni Conservatory, directed by Chiara Morandi, with the very young Sonia Marsili on piano and Olimpia Pelletier on violin, performing a program entirely dedicated to Mozart, with the Piano Concerto No. 414 and the Violin Concerto No. 207.
“Il Sabato del Mascagni” confirms itself as an unmissable appointment for lovers of quality music, capable of combining tradition and innovation, involving established artists and promising talents in the music scene. We look forward to seeing you every Saturday at Auditorium Cesare Chiti to experience together a musical journey full of emotions and discoveries.
