THE HEART OF THE EARTH: THE EMBRACE THAT UNITES

On June 26, 2025, in the charming setting of the Fortezza Nuova di Livorno, an extraordinary cultural event comes to life signed by Cesare Catania, an artist known internationally for his monumental works and his phygital vision of art. The evening represents a unique combination of sculpture, cinema, and contemporary reflection.

The absolute protagonist will be the monumental phygital work “The Heart of the Earth”, a monumental sculpture over three meters high, entirely made of steel and designed to defy gravity. Composed of sculptural volumes – three triangular-based inverted pyramids and two hollow spheres – the structure develops around a tilted central axis, creating an extraordinary visual and physical balance. The technical language and the dynamic equilibrium of the work testify to the encounter between art and engineering, aesthetics, and stability.

During the event, a world premiere of the artistic short film “A Child’s Imagination”, written and directed by Catania himself, will be screened to an extra-festival audience. Selected by more than 150 international festivals and winner of more than 50, the film is a poetic ode to creativity, capable of exciting and inspiring the viewer through a hypnotic and dreamlike visual narrative. The screening will be followed by a short cultural discussion, with the artist’s participation.

The initiative is an integral part of the artistic and social journey initiated by Cesare Catania through the project “The Embrace”, already sponsored by important national institutions, and is part of the Manifesto of Democratic Art drafted by the artist himself – the first official manifesto in the history of contemporary art drafted in such a form.
