“All for one, one for all!” The most famous motto from Dumas’ novel, symbol of an unbreakable friendship, comes to life in this new Italian musical version of “The Three Musketeers – Opera Pop” produced by Stefano Francioni Produzioni and the Teatro Stabile d’Abruzzo (of which Giorgio Pasotti is the artistic director) which will arrive in the most important Italian theaters.
A show where music, prose and dance intertwine in a captivating and exciting tale with Giò Di Tonno, Vittorio Matteucci, Graziano Galatone in the roles of Athos, Porthos and Aramis and the innovative and elegant touch of Giuliano Peparini who is in charge of artistic direction and direction; the choreography is curated by Veronica Peparini and Andreas Muller, the texts are written by Alessandro Di Zio and the music is composed by Giò Di Tonno.
The triumph of friendship, but also the triumph of power and ambition in this timeless story where “good” and “bad” fight an almost archetypal battle putting values like honor, loyalty, honesty at the center, values that are often challenged by the myth of contemporary man and that the three musketeers proudly carry on the tip of their swords. Swords that they do not hesitate to use: because for honesty and friendship one can and must fight. And for love, the driving force behind every action that is sublimated in the encounter between D’Artagnan and Constance: A love that will be shattered by the revenge thirst of the other female protagonist: the perfidious Milady.
The ending, like all endings, will restore balance and Milady will be executed. But the audience will leave with a bitter taste in their mouths. Who knows, perhaps because the “good” have suddenly become “bad”? Or perhaps because death is the only mystery that even contemporary man has not been able to unravel. The only mystery that makes us microscopic and vulnerable.
