Monday June 29, “Gazes in the Fortress – Forget it, Johnny!”, 9.30 pm: Fabrizio Bentivoglio introduces and comments on his directorial debut, nominated for 5 David di Donatello awards. The film tells the story of Faustino who in the seventies dreams of becoming a professional musician to get a contract and avoid military service. A funny and melancholic film with a powerful cast: the Servillo brothers, Valerio Golino, Ernesto Mahieux, Antimo Merolillo and Bentivoglio himself. Entrance, 7 euros.
Tuesday June 30, “Nico Gori Young Lions 4tet”, 9.30 pm: another appointment with great jazz in Quadra dei Pisani. The quartet led by Nico Gori will enchant with its energy and rhythms, from classic standards to songs from the South American tradition. Great spirit, improvisation, and interplay. With Nico Gori (internationally renowned clarinetist and trumpeter), Sergio Rizzo on guitar, Francesco Tino on bass, and Simone Brilli on drums. Entrance, 7 euros.
Wednesday July 1, Dario Ballantini “The voices of the songwriters”, 9.30 pm: Dario Ballantini pays tribute to the great heritage of Italian singer-songwriters in an intense and evocative show. Accompanied by a refined musical formation – Nino Pellegrini on double bass, Stefano Franceschini on sax, and Andrea Garibaldi on piano – the Livornese artist guides the audience on a journey through the work of fifteen unforgettable singer-songwriters. From Paolo Conte to Lucio Dalla, passing through Francesco De Gregori and Ivan Graziani, the show offers acoustic versions of some of the most beloved songs, reinterpreted with sensitivity and respect. Thursday July 2, “Abba Dream”, 9.30 pm: the wildest show in Europe returns to Fortezza Vecchia. For the Livorno Tribute Fest by Stage 11, the tribute to ABBA, which boasts an impressive number of replicas in Italy and abroad. The music from the period 1972-1982 of ABBA like you’ve never heard it before. Entrance, 22 euros.
Friday July 3, “Black Armada Group”, 9 pm: It’s pirate time. The Black Armada Band brings to light the ancient songs and legends of the golden age of Piracy and Seafaring, turning them into a lively wave of sound and history. An unmissable, immersive concert, blending pirate sounds, Mediterranean atmospheres, and overwhelming vibrations. Entrance, 8 euros.
Saturday July 4, “Alessio Colombini & Friends”, 9 pm: singer-songwriter Alessio Colombini returns to Livorno, presenting a concert drawing from his 4 historic albums. Accompanied by a high-level nine-element formation, capable of ranging between engaging moments and intimate atmospheres. Entrance, 10 euros.
Plus, every Friday and Saturday, from midnight onwards, the night of Fortezza Vecchia lights up with the most suggestive “disco under the stars” on the Tuscan coast.
