Top week at Fortezza Vecchia. For the film festival “Sguardi in Fortezza” the first international super guest arrives: Laura Morante, Italian actress and director among the most appreciated in the world. Her name, since her debut in the Eighties, is a guarantee of great cinema for the care with which she chooses projects and for the great directors she has worked with.

Following Morante there will be Michele Placido (July 14), Tecla Insolia (July 28, with director Sara Petraglia) and Alessandro Benvenuti (August 25). But the Fortezza, this week, will also feature opera, jazz, theater, and great music.

Sunday June 29, 9:30 pm: “It will be charming”, a musical evening with the music school “Nova InCanto” by Fabio Ceccanti. The choice of live music with talented musicians testifies to Nova InCanto’s commitment to producing live music and musical culture, offering viewers a fascinating, authentic, engaging experience.

Monday, June 30, 9 pm: Laura Morante presents her film “Assolo”, directed by and starring Laura Morante. Laura Morante introduces the screening of her second directorial work, “Assolo”, a 2016 film with an exceptional cast: Marco Giallini, Francesco Pannofino, Gigio Alberti, Angela Finocchiaro, Carolina Crescentini, and Piera Degli Esposti. Laura Morante plays Flavia, a woman dissatisfied with her life, with two divorces and two children (from two different fathers). In her extended family, the men have been successful, she feels unfulfilled despite all the harmony around her. The film has excited critics who have described it as “a self-portrait full of grace and irony.” Ticket, 7 euros with a drink included at the “Fortezza Bar”. Organizers recommend punctuality for 9 pm.

Tuesday July 1, 9:30 pm: Michele Crestacci in “Modigliani”. Actor and author Michele Crestacci, directed by Alessandro Brucioni (also co-author), will present all his authorial monologues dedicated to the great Livornesi in Fortezza. It starts with his cult “Modigliani”, continues with “Picchi” on July 25, then “Caproni” on August 7, and closes with “Mascagni” on September 11. Great biographies with a lot of humor and flashes of genius in perfect Livorno style. Ticket, 10 euros.

Wednesday July 2, 9:30 pm: a new appointment with “Jazz Meets” with the duo “Simonelli/Caturelli” at Cinemagic. A journey through the most beloved soundtracks of films, cartoons, and musicals in a semi-acoustic format, full of emotions and magic. On stage, Valentina Caturelli, eclectic artist and performer, and Valerio Simonelli, multi-instrumentalist musician and refined interpreter. Free entry.

Thursday, July 3, 9:30 pm, Elia Lunardi in concert. Livornese, multi-instrumentalist musician, Elia Lunardi grew up in a family of musicians. His father is the violinist Stefano “Stive” Lunardi. Elia “was born” a drummer and percussionist but then approached singing. “Sound of Light” is his first EP, between indie-pop electronic and the introspection of the singer-songwriter.

Friday, July 4: Opera & Concerts presents the “Lyrical Gala” with the Teatro Goldoni Orchestra “Massimo De Bernart” directed by Mario Menicagli, featuring music by Puccini and Verdi, Mascagni and Donizetti. With great soloists: Martina Russomanno (soprano), Didier Pieri (tenor), Min Kim (baritone) – three prestigious performers. Pieces from Carmen, La Bohème, Cavalleria Rusticana, Manon Lescaut, Norma, Fedora, and Turandot. Ticket: 15 euros full price, 10 reduced.

From midnight, Studio 2, the most suggestive dance event under the stars on the coast.

Saturday, July 5, 9:30 pm: Manifè Live. The Manifè are Nicoletta Solinas (vocals and bass), Federico Onida (guitars), Massimo Provinciali (drums). Three friends who share a deep passion for music try to convey it to the public. The great classics of soul, blues, and pop are given back with a new energy – not just simple covers but the reinterpretation of the History of music according to Manifè (free entry).

From midnight “Deep Love Factory”, dance until dawn.
