This morning, the concert ” Tribute to Maria Torrigiani“, scheduled for Saturday, June 21st at 4:30 pm at the Auditorium “C. Chiti” was presented in the Benefactors Hall of the “Pietro Mascagni” Conservatory in Livorno, on the first anniversary of the artist’s passing and on the day of the Music Festival.
Attending the press conference were the Director of the Conservatory Federico Rovini, President Emanuele Rossi, professor Pardo Fornaciari, and prof.ssa Laura Bastogi, representing the Garibaldi d’Assalto Choir, founded by Maria Torrigiani herself in 2012.
“Maria was a central figure for the Mascagni Conservatory, not only for her role as founder of the Garibaldi d’Assalto Choir but also as responsible for the institute’s communication – declared Director Rovini -. Our tribute is affectionate and dutiful.”
“The Garibaldi Choir will remember her with the pieces she loved the most – added Pardo Fornaciari – to celebrate her in the most authentic way: through the music that accompanied every phase of her life.”
“Maria – emphasized Laura Bastogi – always deeply cared for this choir, sharing her experience, her expertise, and her enthusiasm with all of us.”
The concert will offer a repertoire ranging from folk songs to civil memory, in an ideal journey that combines Maria Torrigiani’s vocal identity and militant thinking. The pieces will be introduced with short historical-narrative notes, curated by prof.ssa Bastogi.
Admission is free until seats are full.
