Mascagni Conservatory, final concerts of Professor Morandi’s violin class

On Saturday, June 27 at 4.30pm and Monday, June 29 at 5.30pm, students of the violin class will be the protagonists of the final concerts of the academic year.

The State Conservatory of Music “Pietro Mascagni” in Livorno offers two appointments dedicated to the final concerts of Professor Chiara Morandi’s violin class, scheduled on Saturday, June 27 at 4.30pm and Monday, June 29 at 5.30pm, at the “Cesare Chiti” Auditorium.

The concerts represent the concluding moment of the students’ training path, called to confront themselves with some of the most significant pages of violin literature, putting into practice the technical and interpretative work developed during the year.

Saturday, June 27

In the concert on Saturday, June 27, Eleonora Panza, Leone Pini, and Olimpia Pelletier will be the protagonists, performing the complete or partial execution of three great romantic repertoire concertos:

• Concerto No. 1 by Max Bruch;
• Concerto op. 47 by Jean Sibelius;
• Concerto No. 2 by Henryk Wieniawski.

Works of extraordinary technical and expressive complexity that require high interpretative skills and deep musical maturity.

Monday, June 29

The second appointment, scheduled on Monday, June 29 at 5.30pm, will instead offer a journey through different styles and eras, with music by Henri Fiocco, Antonio Curci, Georg Philipp Telemann, Johann Sebastian Bach, Max Bruch, Henryk Wieniawski and Jean Sibelius.

Alternating on the stage will be Tommaso Martelli, Eleonora Di Rocca, Leonardo Bacci, Eleonora Panza, Olimpia Pelletier, and Leone Pini, in a program that enhances both solo and concert repertoire.

The two concerts witness the artistic growth path of the students in Professor Chiara Morandi’s violin class and represent an important opportunity for the audience to closely know the daily work that characterizes musical training within the Conservatorio Mascagni.
