IVAN SEGRETO’S CONCERT – “Songs of women and men of Sicily”

Ivan Segreto, a singer-songwriter of Sicilian origin, enthusiastically blends jazz and singer-songwriter music, ethnic roots and electronic and electroacoustic inspirations. The south and north of the world come together, as well as east and west, where rhythm becomes the main ingredient, the ground on which new experiments are born, the common thread that leads on a sound journey aware of its origins, but constantly curious about yet unexplored landscapes.

In this Solo Piano and Electronics performance, Ivan Segreto presents a repertoire focused on his homeland, Sicily, bringing traditional songs, original compositions and important references within a modern, electronic-minimal aesthetic.

His debut album, “Porta Vagnu” (2004), was acclaimed by critics and audience, receiving the recognition of “Best Debut” and a nomination for the Tenco Prize. He has shared the stage with artists like Franco Battiato and Wynton Marsalis.

His second album, “Fidate correnti” (2005), further established his presence on the sales charts. In 2006, he participated in the Sanremo Festival with “Con un gesto” and received the Mia Martini Prize.

His third work, “Ampia” (2007), featured collaborations with Franco Battiato, Paolo Fresu, and Giovanni Sollima, and received the Ciampi Prize. Among his later releases are “Chiaro” (2011), “INTEGRA” (2014, with a Tenco Prize nomination), the extended plays “Doni ed angeli” (2017) and “Metasi” (2019). In 2020, he created contemporary arrangements of “Nel Blu Dipinto di Blu” and “Nessun Dorma”. In 2021, he released “Indie Hub Studio Session” and in 2023 the single “Paura e Pace”.
