To open the evening, one of Gabriel Fauré’s most “carnivalesque” compositions, in pure divertissement style. This is followed by a work by Camille Saint-Saëns for violin and orchestra, and a symphony by Franz Schubert. To complete the program, Spring from Max Richter’s recomposition of Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
