Women’s football, spotlights on the II Benetti Trophy

The Benetti Trophy will take place at the Magnozzi Stadium in the Municipality of Livorno, in Via V.E. Orlando on June 22, 2024 starting at 09:30 and reserved for the U15 female category (2009-2011).
The event, established in 2023 on the occasion of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the historic Benetti Shipyard, a global brand in yachting and a symbol of Italian excellence, confirms its national relevance.

PRESENTATION OF THE FOOTBALL LIBRARY PROJECT

Jean Paul Sartre stated “football is the metaphor of life,” indeed the sport of the people manages to create a world of emotions often overlapping with the real one, succeeding in uniting all social classes in a common feeling of enthusiasm and participation.

The FOOTBALL LIBRARY project aims to contribute to the enhancement of culture, not only sports-related, but also to offer an overview of the history of the relationship between football and literature. Football is certainly the most popular sport in Italy, if not in the world. However, not everyone knows that it has many ramifications and offers food for thought on many aspects of our society, allowing for a broad spectrum of exploration.

It aims to offer documentation and bibliographic research services, with the goal of guiding athletes and enthusiasts through the history of Italian and world football, enabling them to search and understand facts, statistics, chronicles, as well as technical manuals, journalistic interventions, periodicals, novels, stories and poems, biographies and autobiographies of various kinds dedicated to football. Specifically, the following services will be offered:

• Consultation and reading
• Orientation and bibliographic information
• Free and guided consultation of specialized databases
• Consultations for bibliographic research

The players from the ASD LIVORNO women’s first team, accompanied and coordinated by coaches and managers in organizing MEET LIVORNO WOMEN, a playful event involving games/exercises reserved for girls, future footballers, where they can demonstrate that education can be achieved through movement, transmitting and fostering passion for sports, instilling playing the transferable values in different life contexts such as: respect, trust, confrontation, loyalty, solidarity, respect for the individual and team spirit. All while leaving ample time for the girls’ enjoyment, their commitment on the field with small challenges allowing everyone to increase their baggage of experiences, both technically and physically, as well as emotionally.

The guest of honor of the tournament will be ASD DISABILI ROMA 2000, committed for years to the promotion and dissemination of five-a-side football for the blind, which has recently presented its women’s team. The audience and the various teams will have the opportunity to meet the girls of the team, an event where sports truly becomes inclusion.

FOP ITALIA ONLUS, an association formed by parents and relatives of people (mostly children) suffering from fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva, including Livorno captain Andrea Luci. During the day, a fundraiser will be promoted in favor of FOP, with the presentation of a symbolic check representing the real contribution (equivalent to 500.00 euros) that ASD LIVORNO CALCIO WOMEN will donate.

An event that can truly be beneficial from a tourist, social, and economic perspective for the welcoming territory. The activity of ASD LIVORNO CALCIO WOMEN represents an opportunity for the city of Livorno, and the success of the past year shows how there is a positive impact on the territory, generating various types of benefits:
