The project of director Alessandra Luisini explores the relationship between the female figure and Italian music from the Fifties to today, a relationship that has gone through many phases, reflecting important cultural and social transformations.
The female figure in Italian music has evolved from an image of a passive muse to that of an active and independent protagonist. Artists like Mina, Loretta Goggi, Marcella Bella, Rettore, Joe Squillo, and Sabrina Salerno have helped redefine the boundaries of Italian music, making the music scene increasingly rich and inclusive. At the same time, the influence of artists like Barbara Streisand has shown how determination and talent can break any barrier.
Each piece presented will be introduced by a brief oral presentation by M° Giovanni Balzaretti of the Agricolo theater, where their contribution over time will be examined, also comparing Barbara Streisand, an internationally iconic figure of extraordinary influence.
The Livorno City Band, a historical memory of the Livorno community, founded in 1977 by the Municipality of Livorno, the Province, and the “P. Mascagni” Music Institute (still members of the band), born in the tradition of the ancient “Banda Cittadina Livornese”, formerly the Musical Band of the National Guard of Livorno (1861), is an association that promotes and disseminates music at the popular level, attended by young people and adults who find optimal conditions for the generational dialogue that today finds few opportunities for comparison, becoming a place of aggregation and professional qualification.
