The opening will take place on Saturday, March 15 at 6pm. Pierangelo Bertolo brings to the gallery an explosion of color, irony, and collective memory with his exhibition “Caramelloids & Co.” His sculptures, created with playful and surprising assemblages, transport the audience into a universe made of sweet memories and vibrant atmospheres.
The Melograno Art Gallery in Livorno is pleased to present “Caramelloidi & Co.”, a solo exhibition by the Novarese artist Pierangelo Bertolo, scheduled from March 13 to 19, 2025.
At the center of the exhibition we find the Caramelloidi, giant humanized candies that evoke the innocence of childhood and the charm of those small greedy objects that have marked the memory of each of us. Alongside them, the series “Remembering the colors of Fiorucci”, which with its colorful original leathers from the 70s pays tribute to the iconic stylist, master of a pop, iridescent, and psychedelic aesthetic.
Bertolo’s works are not simple sculptures, but real catalysts of emotions and meanings. With his craftsmanship and playful vision, he transforms materials and forms into a language that is immediately understandable and capable of evoking deep memories. His approach makes him an artist-artisan, a creator who combines mastery of technique and a playful spirit, reinventing the world with a constantly curious and ironic gaze.
Giant rings, bitcoins enclosed in Fiorucci bags, a revisited Pinocchio: each element becomes a symbol that dialogues with the collective imagination, transforming the past into a new vision. The communicability of his works is not based on complex narratives, but on the ability to speak directly to the viewer through universal forms and colors.
The artist plays with dimensions, amplifying the magical effect and making each piece a continuous surprise. The result is an exhibition path that strikes for its emotional impact, evoking memories, subliminal messages, and sensations that belong to each of us. “Caramelloidi & Co.” is a journey through time, an ode to color, play, and irony, where past and present merge into a single, sparkling artistic vision.
