The event will open at 6.30 pm with the arrival in Piazza San Jacopo of pilgrims from the various paths of Tuscany who set off in procession, together with the performers and walkers who want to join them, from the gathering place at the Gazebo della Terrazza Mascagni
The fourth edition of the Landing of the Pilgrims of the Camino de Santiago will take place on Saturday, July 4th, in Piazza San Jacopo in Acquaviva. From 6.30 pm to 10 pm, there will be reenactments and celebrations with music, dances, narrations, art and crafts, guided tours of the crypt. This popular festival, supported by the Municipality of Livorno and some sponsors, is coordinated by the Vivi San Jacopo Association, directed by Emanuele Gamba and Stefania Fraddanni, set up by Isabella Panicucci and featuring choreographies of medieval dances by Federica Boesmi. The event will open at 6.30 pm with the arrival in Piazza San Jacopo of pilgrims from various paths in Tuscany. They will be welcomed by the local authorities and the president of the Culture, Tourism and Sport Commission, Arianna Terreni. A narration by Emanuele Gamba will reconstruct the episode of the landing in Livorno in 1144 that brought the relics of San Giacomo to Pistoia. The square will come alive with artisans in period costumes representing old trades and featuring stories about the medieval history of the neighborhood. The event will also include guided tours of the Crypt of San Jacopo by the Comitato Gioiello Ritrovato (for reservations call 333 495 5494). Thank you to all those who contributed to the event.
