The curtain rises on the 2026 edition of Estate a Villa Trossi and on stage the tribute to the artistic combination between Fabrizio De André and the Premiata Forneria Marconi, more simply known as PFM, takes place. Bringing it to the stage will be Lorenzo Taccini & La Piccola Orchestra, a seven-piece ensemble that returns this year as well, after the success achieved in previous editions, in the lineup of the event held in the outdoor spaces of Villa Trossi, a stone’s throw from the waterfront of Livorno, and promoted by the Trossi-Uberti Art Foundation, also conceived by the Pietro Napoli Association, with the support of the Tuscany Region and the Municipality of Livorno. Directed and produced by Roberto Napoli, Estate a Villa Trossi is supported by Fondazione Livorno.
Lorenzo Taccini & La Piccola Orchestra have been performing for over ten years and have focused particularly on research related to the great names of Italian singer-songwriters. Livornese singer-songwriter and expert in singer-songwriter music, Lorenzo Taccini (vocals and guitar) will take the stage with the lineup that has been tested since 2017: Claudia Argenti (guitar), Matteo Mori (bass), Carlo Peveri (drums), Michele Fierabracci (accordion), Giovanni Cavicchia (flute) and Elisabetta Mannini (cello). The tribute to the figure of De André is the flagship of this band, which on this occasion will primarily focus on the artistic meeting between Faber and PFM, giving its own interpretation of the sound and arrangements that Premiata Forneria Marconi managed to give to Fabrizio De André’s repertoire.
The reference is directly related to the historic tour that, between 1978 and 1979, saw the lyrics of the famous Genoese singer-songwriter “merge” with the music of Mauro Pagani, Franz Di Cioccio and company. From there, De André’s entire discography changed pace, also winning over the sympathies of the new generations, bringing Fabrizio, from being just a French-style chansonnier, “out in the open” on stages across Italy. De André, the unforgettable singer of the downtrodden, the marginalized, those defeated by life, manages from that moment to truly inspire many generations and brings the music production to break down the division of social classes.
During the evening, between one song and another, anecdotes and life stories of Faber, a nickname given to him by his friend Paolo Villaggio, a fellow Genoese, who always saw him writing and drawing using colored pencils “Faber-Castell”, will be briefly remembered. Obviously, the arrangements of his songs made by Premiata Forneria Marconi for the concerts from which a famous live album was produced, proposing famous songs like “Bocca di rosa”, “Via del Campo”, “La città vecchia”, “Fiume Sand Creek”, “Geordie”, “La canzone di Marinella” and many others will be included.
