Throat-cutter is the terrible and mocking nickname of a dreamer’s soul in a body marked by ailments and miseries of a difficult historical moment due to the cholera epidemic that kept us company in the summer of 1911; but above all, it is a fresco of stories and lively characters despite the difficulties, faces of libeccio sculpted by that wind that, when it blows in our parts, blows strong, disarranging characters, sounds, colors, smells, making the orderly management of daily life impracticable.
For those born by the sea, the sea is life and the wind accompanies it: those who find themselves in the middle ride the days by inventing a system not to be unseated; so it becomes natural to imagine oneself embarked on a gozzo of the legendary Risicators and recounting how one met William Shakespeare, or serving a coffee to the supreme Macchiaiolo Giovanni Fattori in person, or singing the recipe for Cacciucco so as not to forget it.
Claudio Monteleone is an actor, director, and theater teacher with a great taste for storytelling and a unique art in immersing himself in the characters he portrays.
