Marathon Cinema Lesson: from TV dramas to TV series

Saturday, January 17th at the Auditorium of the Museum of Natural History of the Mediterranean, 234 Via Roma, the Marathon Lecture will be held with the theme “From soap operas to TV series”.

In the afternoon session (4.30 – 7.30 pm), introduced in video by the film critic Oreste De Fornari, will speak Massimo Ghirlanda on “The Betrothed” by Sandro Bolchi (1967); Marco Vanelli on “The Odyssey” by Franco Rossi (1968); Nicola Cerbai on “Sandokan” by Sergio Sollima (1976); Michele Cecchini on “Ligabue” by Salvatore Nocita (1977) and Marco Bruciati on “House of Cards” by Beau Willimon (2013-2018).

After the break with social aperitif inside the Museum (to be booked by January 15th), the Marathon will continue in the evening session (9:00 – 11:00 pm) with the interventions of Anna Pala on “The Crown” by Peter Morgan (2016-2023); Alessio Porquier on “Un posto al sole” by George Stevens (1996-2025) and Pier Dario Marzi on “Adolescence” by Philip Barantini (2025).

Students attending will receive a certification for possible school credit.

Speakers

Oreste De Fornari – Film critic, has published books on Sergio Leone, Francois Truffaut, Walt Disney, and on Dino Risi’s “Il Sorpasso”, in addition to American Classics and a history of television drama (Teleromanza). He collaborated for many years with RAI as author and TV presenter, usually paired with Gloria De Antoni.
