Ortiz & Are at The Cage

 At the theater of Villa Corridi, Saturdays continue to be dedicated to promoting young artists and new live music thanks to the My Generation event, born from the collaboration between the Livorno live club and the Florentine association Musicus Concentus. As per twenty-year tradition, The Cage continues to welcome not only the big names of the national and international scene, but also local artists and bands, with the aim of enhancing the prolific underground fabric of the city. This time it’s the turn of Ortiz & Are and their new ep of unreleased tracks The hood brothers. Friends for many years, bound by an unshakeable personal and artistic affinity, the two Livorno rappers will return to the stage of The Cage to present this first common work to the public, an ep with 9 tracks that closes the circle of a fertile period of collaboration. For the first time at The Cage in November 2022 opening for the live by Don Said, Ortiz quickly carved out a prominent role in the city’s music scene: “This ep contains 9 tracks and they are all unreleased, except for Imperatori Freestyle, which has just been released on Spotify and our social channels – he explains – presenting them at The Cage is as always a great honor, because it is the best venue in Livorno and one of the best in Tuscany. We are very happy and can’t wait“. On his part, Are is not far behind: born in 2001 of Ethiopian origin, he has been dedicated to music since a young age and loves experimentation, a trait that allows him to simultaneously pursue different and multifaceted projects. Although the collaboration with Ortiz remains a solid point: “Our relationship has lasted for a long time, I feel good with him. I like to say that we keep each other company on a lonely path“. In fact, the two are not a stable duo and continue to pursue their solo careers in parallel. Young and talented, they promise to make the live club resonate and to captivate the audience in an engaging and unforgettable evening.
