Launched on July 31, 2010 after a careful restoration work by Opera Laboratori Fiorentini, it is managed by Costa Edutainment S.p.A.

The reborn Aquarium, the third largest in Italy and the largest in Tuscany, is dedicated to the biologist of the 17th century Diacinto Cestoni, who conducted numerous interesting scientific studies.

Located on the Lungomare of Livorno, next to the Terrazza Mascagni, it enjoys a privileged position with a strong emotional and scenic impact.

The Aquarium is a journey to discover the wonders of the sea with an integrated visit path that develops on two floors with an exhibition area of about 3,000 square meters, 32 tanks that house over 1,700 animals of 300 different species. On the first floor, there is the exhibition “Kosmos: the sky and the stars from antiquity to Galileo”. At the end of the visit, it is possible to access the panoramic terrace with views of the sea and the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago.
