Gianni Rivera, Gli Autogol and more than a hundred sports activities. This is how the fourth edition of the Livorno White Night of Sport is presented, a unique event in Italy that celebrates the sports tradition of the area and allows young people, boys, and girls to get to know and try out every discipline. The appointment is for Saturday 11 July 2026, from 19.00 to 01.30, between Via dei Pensieri, Via Allende, and the sports facilities that are part of the so-called Sports Citadel.

Scheduled are over a hundred sports activities, disciplines to try, games, shows, exhibitions, and information points. And then street food, music, inflatables for children, the eSports village with the FIGC-Lega Nazionale Dilettanti, interviews and many other activities for what – in just three years – has become a real sports celebration. Overall there will be more than fifty entities present at the event among Sports Federations, promotion bodies and territorial associations, with about a hundred companies and thousands of children.

Like last year – at the intersection between Via dei Pensieri and Via Allende, at the South bend of the stadium – a stage will be set up for shows and entertainment where, at the beginning of the evening, a tribute to Igor Protti will be held, an absolute symbol of Livorno football who passed away in recent days.

After the opening ceremony, at 9:00 pm, the great guest of this edition, Gianni Rivera, AC Milan legend and first Italian Ballon d’Or winner, one of the greatest footballers in history, will take the main stage. In the weeks leading up, the former golden boy was an honored guest at the opening match of the 2026 World Cup at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, where in 1970 he was the absolute protagonist of the historic Italy-Germany 4-3 semifinal, the match of the century. Gianni Rivera – in dialogue with Gianni Tacchi, journalist and organizational manager of Fondazione LEM for the White Night of Sport – will present the autobiography “Gianni Rivera. Yesterday and Today” and will share his story with the Livorno audience.

Following that, “Beat Her. One Hundred Years of Cinema and Sport“, a journey around fifteen films to tell one hundred years of sports in cinema. The show – by and with Marco Bruciati, cultural operator and director, artistic director of Effetto Venezia in 2023 – will be enriched by Claudio Laucci’s music. It is an experimental journey between high and low, sacred and profane, black and white and color.

At 11:00 pm the closing show with the animation performance of Gli Autogol, a comedic trio with around 10 million followers on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. Also protagonists in the main Italian theaters, Gli Autogol will bring to the main stage of the White Night of Sport the most beloved imitations on social media (Allegri, Chiellini, Conte, Ibrahimovic…) and will host a series of games and quizzes with the audience.

During the event, all the facilities in the area – from the stadium to PalaMacchia passing through the pool and the rugby field – will be open and will welcome families for a night of sport and fun. This year too it will be possible to follow or try out dozens and dozens of sports, and the formula of awards for boys and girls based on the number of disciplines tried during the event is confirmed. Tennis, basketball, soccer, fencing, swimming, cycling, baseball, archery, martial arts, checkers; but also surfing, sailing, and windsurfing thanks to simulators, as well as spectacular activities like aerial acrobatics with fabrics.

The parking lot of the school field, the heart of the White Night of Sport, will be even richer in games and activities: here will find space for the area for sports performances of skating, dance, and gymnastics, the boxing ring, the skatepark with a series of pyrotechnic displays and other games such as minigolf, giant chess, free climbing, and human foosball. Between Via dei Pensieri and Via Allende, there will also be three-point shooting basketball competitions and challenges on rowing machines – open to all – thanks to the valuable collaboration of the Naval Academy of Livorno. PalaMacchia will host a series of games in baskin, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair handball.

The testimonial of this edition is triple jumper Andy Diaz, a Cuban naturalized Italian, bronze medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympics and two-time indoor world champion (2025 and 2026) in triple jump. Holder of the Italian record, also European indoor champion (2025) and three-time Diamond League winner (2022, 2023, 2025), Diaz is part of the Fiamme Gialle sports group and continues to compete for Libertas Unicusano Livorno, the first club to sign him in Italy after his arrival from Cuba.

Finally, the new collaboration with Radio Sportiva, media partner of the White Night of Sport, is to be noted. Radio Sportiva journalists, a national broadcaster that covers sports 24/7, will be present in Livorno and will follow the event with live broadcasts and interviews, first with a special episode of “Microfono aperto” and then with interviews with the evening’s protagonists.
