On Friday, January 31st, the Unchained will bring Quentin Tarantino’s movie soundtracks to the stage. The Unchained project stems from the undisputed love of all band members for the films of the pulp master, Quentin Tarantino. The group is made up of 6 musicians from Livorno, Collesalvetti, and Massa: Gaia Guarneri (lead vocals), Simone Orlandi (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), Simone Pozzolini (bass and backing vocals), Matteo Avanzoni (drums), Alu Di Bello (lead guitar), Massi Il Grillo (keyboards), Luca 
Mariotti (wind instruments), and Mattia Magi (wind instruments). The soundtracks of the great director, which have become almost – sometimes more – as iconic as his films, are renowned for their eclectic and visionary mix and over the years have brought the energy and freshness of 60s surf and garage tunes, the poignant melancholy of the most iconic blues, the American atmospheres of classic country, to the funk charge, to eastern influences and the solemnity of wonderful orchestral pieces, to the big screen. The Unchained bring to the stage, in their own interpretation, the soundtracks of one of Hollywood’s most rock directors, famous also for the meticulous care with which he personally chooses the music for his films, making it an integral part of the narrative. Many of the film’s tracks have become real characters, or symbols of pop culture, able to immediately evoke cult images. Just thinking about two of the many titles that have made cinema history, it is impossible not to think of Tarantino’s unmistakable style when listening to the hypnotic riff of Misirlou, or the forbidden duet between Mia Wallace and Vincent Vega when hearing the overwhelming twist of You Never Can Tell; in the same way, the cover of Nancy Sinatra’s Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) in Kill Bill Vol. 1, has overshadowed Sonny Bono and Cher’s original. All of this resonates within the Unchained: whether you are a fan of Tarantino’s cinema or a music enthusiast, the Unchained live show is a captivating pulp experience that blends nostalgia, style, and pure adrenaline.
