Boat tour dedicated to children

Also this year Vetrina Toscana thinks about today’s children, who will be tomorrow’s consumers, with an initiative that combines the history of the city of Livorno and its port with the theme of food as a sort of common thread that – traveling from boat to boat – has been connecting cultures, peoples, and distant lands for centuries. On board the Marco Polo Boat, transformed for this occasion into the mythical boat of Giufà, we will set sail to discover places in our city seen from the unusual perspective of the “fossi” (canals) in the company of a very special narrator! Upon disembarking, we will have a surprise visit to Gagarin, the oldest and most famous torteria in Livorno, where we will find master Giuliano who will open the doors of his kingdom scented with chickpea flour and tell us the true story of 5e5. The beautiful Mercato Centrale, a temple of the city’s gastronomic tradition, will host us for the final dive into the smells and colors of food, where our experience will conclude with a final workshop and a snack scented with chickpeas.

Event in collaboration with Torteria da Gagarin, Slow Food, and La Bottega di Campagna Amica.

Meeting at 4:45 pm Scali Novi Lena (cellars under Piazza Mazzini).

Each child must be accompanied by only one adult.

In case of bad weather, the event will take place inside the Mercato Centrale, where a educational workshop for children and a guided tour reserved for accompanying adults are planned. Following that, there will be a tasting for all participants by Torteria Gagarin and Campagna Amica. The meeting will take place at 5:00 pm on the Via del Cardinale. Costs and reservation methods remain unchanged (also available online).
