The second edition of “Persian Spring” is coming, the characteristic film festival dedicated to Iran and promoted by Cinema Theater 4 Mori in collaboration with Woman Life Freedom Italy Community. Three films proposed on the big screen in via Pietro Tacca for 2024: “Seven winters in Teheran” by Steffi Niederzoll (Wednesday, April 10 at 9.15 pm), “World war III” by Houman Seyyedi (Wednesday, April 17 at 9.15 pm) and “Tatami – A woman fighting for freedom” by Zar Amir Ebrahimi and Guy Nattiv (Wednesday, May 8 at 9.15 pm). Here are the plots. Seven winters in Teheran: An Iranian student is hanged for murder when it is discovered that she acted in self-defense against a rapist. To obtain clemency, she would have had to retract her testimony after seven years in prison. World war III: Shakib is a homeless day laborer who lost his wife and son in an earthquake years ago. In the last two years, he has had a relationship with Ladan, a deaf-mute woman. The construction site where the protagonist works is the set of a film about the Holocaust. Against all odds, he is given a home and the opportunity of a lifetime to play the role of Adolf Hitler. When Ladan learns about his cinematic role and the house, she goes to his workplace to ask for help. Shakib’s plan to hide her fails and jeopardizes his chance of being someone. Tatami – A woman fighting for freedom: Leila is an Iranian judoka trained by Maryam, with the dream of winning the gold medal at the Judo World Championships. However, the Islamic Republic of Iran orders Leila to pretend to have been injured and to withdraw from the match against an Israeli athlete.
Words of the artistic director of Cinema Theater 4 Mori: “We are honored, through this project, to be able to give voice to all those Iranian women who fight every day to assert their rights”.
