Easter Monday at Bellavista Estate Insuese

During this excursion we will visit the Tenuta Bellavista Insuese, a private area usually closed to the public that extends over 700 hectares of Mediterranean scrubland, among organic crops, oak forests, lakes, and the Riserva Regionale Naturale Oasi della Contessa, a marshland of considerable naturalistic importance for the numerous bird species that dwell or stop here during the migration period.

This estate, located between the hamlets of Stagno and Guasticce in the Municipality of Collesalvetti, a few kilometers from the cities of Livorno and Pisa, has recently attracted considerable interest due to the discovery here in 2021 of the “Tesoretto di Suese”, consisting of 175 silver coins from Roman times, featured in an exhibition set up at the Livorno Natural History Museum last summer.

We will have lunch at Lago Alberto with a brief introduction to Forest Therapy and the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku. There is a small chalet here that serves as a bar.
