PARTITURE VISUALI concert for images

It’s a real concert of images that Teatro Goldoni, Conservatorio “Pietro Mascagni” and Associazione “8mmezzo” will present for the first time on Saturday, April 20, at 6 pm and at 9 pm in second performance, in Goldonetta: a project already tested, born from the collaboration of these three entities, realized using images from the archive of the Associazione 8mmezzo, shot in super8 films by families from Livorno and beyond between the ’50s and ’90s. This resulted in 10 films, which will tell different stories and realities that have now disappeared thanks to a new and brilliant soundtracking.
The topics are of various genres, from family films to a travel report or vacation, to the documentation of rural, urban, and working realities. The Composition classes – teachers Fabio De Sanctis De Benedictis and Girolamo Deraco – and Jazz Composition of the Conservatorio “Mascagni” – teacher Mauro Grossi – have committed to creating a soundtrack for these films.
The students of the Conservatorio “Mascagni” have approached these films with professionalism, competence, respect, and dedication, in the expressive freedom guaranteed by the language each of them has chosen to soundtrack the images. The result is fanciful, delicate, ironic soundtracks, sometimes even disturbing, in a varied and dynamic range of feelings, which perhaps only music can express. In this edition, the music is not recorded directly on the film, but performed live by a quintet composed of: Chiara Novello – flute, Andrea Tinacci – bass clarinet, Altea Silvestri – percussion, Niccolò Chiaramonti – guitar, Lorenzo Petrizzo – violin all students or former students of the Conservatorio “P. Mascagni”, under the direction of M° Lorenzo Sbaffi and M° Mauro Grossi».
