Centenary edition with Cittadella del Palio and Dinner on the Terrace organized with Confcommercio.
Also photo exhibition by Mario Vallini on the history of the Palio, basketball courts and street food for 4 days and at least two new prototypes of new boats should be on display. All the others in 2027.
The Palio Marinaro, is the rowing race par excellence that has its roots in the history of the city and its unbreakable bond with the sea. Eight city districts compete with oar strokes on ten-oar boats, in a 2000-meter course in the water in front of the Terrazza Mascagni, among buoys and breathtaking turns. The competition is the result of months of training and sacrifice, experienced in the Cantine – the symbolic places of the nautical sections – where rowers refine technique, harmony, and team spirit. The Palio is not just a race but a collective ritual, a moment of identity and belonging that involves the whole city. The 2026 edition will not be just any edition: it’s the centenary one. The first Rioni race took place in the distant 1926. An important anniversary.
