How important is it
to be able to go all the way in things?
How many have really succeeded?

How many guitars have been stored in the cellar after a few attempts to play them?
How many last cigarettes have we smoked?
How many books have we bought without ever reading them?
How many alarms have we postponed?
How many electoral programs have we not explored before going to vote?
How many times have we not said or done what we should have?
How many messages have we never sent out of fear of the response that would follow?
How many cities could we have lived in chasing our dreams?
How many parties have we not danced at?
How many relationships have never started?
How many ended too soon, how many too late?
How many times have we fallen in love with the idea of doing something instead of actually doing it?

they all die. is an attempt to understand if it is really our fault for all those times we held back, did not complete something, did not go all the way as we wanted or should have. Because maybe sometimes it’s just impossible, there are force majeure reasons, and in the end it is not always healthy to go all the way in everything.

How many relationships have never started, how many ended too soon, how many too late?

Two people. Cosimo and Margherita. One text. Romeo and Juliet. A whole lifetime to try to stage it. But is it really possible? What does Romeo and Juliet say to them? Why do they insist on staging it? Do they really want to?

Does Romeo and Juliet still speak of us today?

Are the models of Love, Hatred, and Death told in Shakespeare’s work still relevant in our contemporary society? Or does Romeo and Juliet still speak of us but in a completely new and unpredictable way?

When I was in high school I read Romeo and Juliet and I thought I was like them, now at thirty I read Romeo and Juliet and I feel nothing anymore. What does this say about me?”

Comparing, on one hand Cosimo and Margherita who cannot bring their choices to fulfillment and be performative enough in everyday life.

On the other hand, Romeo and Juliet, who go all the way in the love they feel for each other to the point of losing themselves. Yet they are the symbol of perfect love. Damn assholes.

they all die. is a show about two people who at a certain point in their lives took a leap, fell while still in mid-air, realized they had missed an opportunity and tried to get up, only to fall again.
