Final festival at The Cage (via del Vecchio Lazzeretto) with the grand closing party of Mostri Sacri Festival. The choirs Springtime and Monday Girls directed by maestro Cristiano Grasso will compete in a challenge with Sanremo songs. Before them, the band from Arezzo Flame Parade will sing Gino Paoli, the singer from Livorno Lucia Fiorentini will sing Fabio Concato, accompanied on piano by Francesco Carone, while Andrea Mignone will pay tribute to Pino Daniele and Ilaria the singer-songwriter Enzo Carella. The music event is scheduled from 4 pm to 8 pm, tickets are available on TicketSms at the cost of 10 euro.
“The lineup has been truly fantastic and being invited as headliners of the final day is truly exciting – explains maestro Grasso – The program that we bring to the Mostri Sacri stage was commissioned as a tribute to the ultimate sacred monster: the Italian music festival. All this was also requested in virtue of the fact that Sanremo has a popular approach and encompasses millions of people under the same common denominator and the choir in its essence is the maximum popular expression. We will play in the last part of the day, from 7 pm until closing around 8 pm. The concert will be conducted as a real musical battle with an applause meter, in full 80s TV style. Ten Sanremo songs that we have prepared in these months will compete: Fiorella Mannoia (Quello che le donne non dicono) – Tazenda (Spunta la luna dal monte), Nada (Ma che freddo fa) – Vasco Rossi (Vita spericolata), Loretta Goggi (Maledetta primavera) – Gabbani (Viceversa), Modugno (Volare) – Morandi-Ruggeri-Tozzi (Si può dare di più), Marcella Bella (Montagne verdi) – Gragnani (Destinazione Paradiso). All clearly in choral version with the Coro SpringTime and Monday Girls.” And can we miss the international super-guests? Absolutely not, and they are top secret. It will be a concert to sing, dance, with a pinch of irony and lightheartedness. We are in the midst of our artistic season that began in December with all the Christmas concerts – explains the deus ex machina of the two choirs, Cristiano Grasso – and it was an honor to accept this invitation that comes after some experiences outside Livorno and after the beautiful performance of Perché il Goldoni è il Goldoni which, for the third year in a row, saw us in the background of the competing singers. For the two choirs, it is all very challenging, given the tight schedule of commitments, but certainly very stimulating.
Born with the intent of paying homage to the great artists of the Italian music tradition, the festival hosted over 40 musicians, artists, singers, and songwriters in three weeks. The event, unmissable for all lovers of the vast Italian music and artistic production, recorded great numbers and a lot of participation: the delicate dedication, full of love and gratitude towards all the artists who have made Italian song great, turned out to be a great success and The Cage location was very appropriate. For the last Sunday, viewers will be able to take a trip back in time where they can listen again to our favorite songs, stroll among the vintage objects stands selected by Mangiadischi, enjoy a great beer to a playlist specially curated between concerts. There will also be video projections of live performances by some of these true “sacred monsters” of Italian music. As every Sunday, it will be possible to attend the Monster Show set up in the small foyer of The Cage, with works by two artists dear to the festival: Margherita Tramutoli, aka La Tram, and Valentina Restivo.
