The Cage Catartica 2024 by Marlene Kuntz, the new tour of the band from Piedmont which will be inaugurated at the Villa Corridi theater (subtitle from Festa Mesta, “Congratulations for the party! A shitty party”): The Cage confirms itself again as the favorite Italian live club for artists to start their tours, a true testament of esteem for their professionalism. Cristiano Godano (vocals and guitar), Luca Lagash Saporiti (bass), Riccardo Tesio (guitar), Davide Arneodo (keyboards), and Sergio Carnevale (drums) will be in Livorno to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Catartica, the cult album that marked an entire generation, breaking with the long classical tradition of Italian rock with a grunge and post-punk slap, and forever changing the history of national music. The band, which received the Ciampi Career Award last December, has released 11 studio albums, 4 live albums, 8 compilations, 2 soundtracks, and 1 gold record. Born in Cuneo in 1992, two years later the band released Catartica, their debut album, which was also the first album of the newborn label Consorzio Produttori Indipendenti, the same label that for almost ten years contributed to the rebirth of Italian underground rock. Among the tracks are already the classics of the band, still eagerly requested by fans at every live performance, from Nuotando nell’aria to Lieve. The album explodes on radios and in the homes of thousands of young people and immediately becomes a real milestone in the history of Italian music. On Friday, March 8, four days before the first Livorno date of the tour and almost 30 years after its release (May 13, 1994), the reissue of Catartica will be released in both CD and double LP formats, both accompanied by a booklet with unpublished photos and a deluxe box in a numbered and limited edition.
