A lot of pain for nothing is the story of my too many loves loved too much, intertwined with stories of people I have met, listened to, known, comforted over the years. It is also the story of when you wake up, when you must open your eyes to save yourself and finally listen to the void that you are so afraid of, discovering how much richness it is full of. It is the chronicle of the effort made to grow, to break away from reference models, and to learn to respect ourselves as we are. It is a look at the patience that is learned to have when we change again and again and do not recognize ourselves, when our body changes and the marks of stretch marks remain to remind us of how many times we vomited from the anguish of a phone call that would never come, to be proud of those scars and not be afraid to show them. A lot of pain for nothing is the story of a pain overcome, to forgive and even to thank because it is also thanks to it that we can look with a tender and amused smile at what we have been and what we are, and all this is not nothing.
