Livorno Art Book Fair 2026 – the first edition is born

The first edition of Livorno Art Book Fair is born, an event dedicated to art books, independent publishing, and contemporary editorial practices, scheduled from July 31 to August 2, 2026 at the Museum of the City of Livorno – Bottini dell’Olio Cultural Center (click here to participate).

The fair will take place in a unique context: it will in fact coincide with the seventeenth edition of the Combat Prize and during Effetto Venezia, the historic Livorno event that animates the Venice District and attracts around 140,000 visitors every year during the event.

Conceived as a platform dedicated to contemporary editorial research, Livorno Art Book Fair is born with the aim of investigating the book as a space for experimentation, linguistic, artistic and exhibition device. Not only a catalog or documentary support, but an autonomous work, capable of intertwining visual practices, graphic design, photography, printing, writing, and theoretical research. A vision that fits into the renewed international interest in the artist’s book and independent publishing forms as places of cultural production and contemporary experimentation.

The event will bring together independent publishers, artist-run spaces, collectives, photographers, designers, illustrators and specialists in artist-led editorial production, returning a diverse panorama of contemporary editorial practices, including zines, artist books, photography, graphic experimentation, and self-productions.

The opening of the event is scheduled for Friday, July 31 at 6.00 pm, with continuation on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6.00 pm to 12.00 am.

With the first edition of Livorno Art Book Fair, Museum of the City of Livorno – Bottini dell’Olio Cultural Center confirms itself as a meeting place for visual arts, publishing, and contemporary experimentation, contributing to enriching the cultural program of the Livorno summer in dialogue with Combat Prize and Effetto Venezia.
