On a hot July morning in 1948, a Hungarian footballer shows up at the Ardenza stadium and finally realizes his dream of playing in Italy, in the team that just a few years before had contended for the title against the great Torino. His name is Istvàn Pakò and he will play for Livorno until, in September 1949, he disappears due to a tragic accident. This book tells his story.
Massimo Volpi was born in Livorno in 1956. The history of his city, music, and the sea are his great passions.
