The exhibition “The Inheritance of Life – Climate is a Choice, Let’s Save the Future” will arrive in Livorno from March 23 to April 8, 2024, as part of the campaign “I Change, the World Changes: Think Globally, Change Internally, Act Locally” by the Italian Buddhist Institute Soka Gakkai, with the aim of involving each individual in the major environmental challenges. The opening will take place at 10:30 on March 23, 2024, at the Museum of Natural History of the Mediterranean (Temporary Exhibition Hall) at 234 Via Roma, Livorno. Mayor of Livorno Luca Salvetti will be present. The exhibition will be open from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 19:00 (closed every Monday and Sunday, March 31). Admission is free.

Increasing awareness of climate change and encouraging personal action with hope and optimism: this is the goal of the exhibition “The Inheritance of Life”. The eighteen panels that make it up start from the seriousness of the climate emergency caused by human activities, particularly the use of coal, oil, and gas, and lead to the determination to contribute to zero emissions by 2050 starting from personal change and commitment in everyday life. From five key sectors to intervene – energy, cities, production and consumption systems, trees, food security – the exhibition moves on to reflect on the right ecological transition, a new development model, human rights, and peace. Everyone can do their part with daily and immediate actions, also to demand and support the necessary systemic actions at the national and global levels.

The campaign “I Change, the World Changes” is supported by the funds of the 8×1000 of the Italian Buddhist Institute Soka Gakkai. The exhibition is supported by the Tuscany Region, the Province of Livorno, and the Municipality of Livorno, and is carried out in collaboration with CRED, Educational and Didactic Resources Center of the Municipality of Livorno and the Museum of Natural History of the Mediterranean.
