The initiative “Lager Dora, the factory of death – 79 years after the liberation of Mittelbau Dora (Nordhausen)” is organized by the Municipality of Livorno and the A.N.E.D. Recently, the ANED was awarded with the Gold Medal for Civil Valor by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella for its “meritorious activity in defense of the values of the republican Constitution and the ideals of Resistance to Nazi-Fascism, in preserving the historical memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the love of their Country and to restore freedom and democracy to the Italian people through years of imprisonment, exile, and internment.”
