In trouble for a click! Starring the Company of the Sixth Floor

The real and the virtual. Offline life and online life. Which side weighs more on the scale in the frantic search for balance in the age of social network invasion? With a hilarious reflection, the Compagnia del Sesto Piano is ready to take the stage at Estate a Villa Trossi with their new work “Inguaiati per un click!“, written and directed by Marco Chiappini. A comedy to laugh, of course, with gags and twists, but also to reflect on the paradoxes of the web, on the meaning and search for virtual loves, online encounters and everything that arises from our increasingly connected lives. On Saturday, July 25th there will be room for all of this in the show proposed by the ongoing festival at Villa Trossi Uberti, promoted by the Trossi-Uberti Art Foundation and conceived by the Pietro Napoli Association.

A show suitable for everyone, because it is never too early or too late to reflect, lightly, on one’s own relationship with social media. Laughter, then, is a trademark of the Compagnia del Sesto Piano, always able to captivate the audience with its performances. So “Inguaiati per un click!” will be a series of surprise events, misunderstandings, unique and surreal characters that lead to a explosive ending, most of the time to a happy ending. This time the common thread is linked to social media and its “traps” wanted or not: a warning, even if presented in an ironic and comedic way, to use the internet conscientiously because we never know who is hiding behind a keyboard, behind words simply written on a screen or on a cell phone.

The protagonist, Pasquale Mangialafoglia, returned home from a brief period of hospitalization for health reasons and with a medical report recommending plenty of rest and tranquility, will be involved, unwillingly, in an embarrassing situation created by his friend and neighbor Teodoro Boccaccia, who, venturing into romantic chats, thinks he has found an easy adventure albeit virtual. What he doesn’t know is that on the other side of the keyboard the sought-after person is not just a love in words, but real. From that moment on, the quiet life of good Pasquale will be disrupted by a series of events that will become increasingly tangled and involve all the characters in the story, starting from his wife and son to the building’s concierge; the tangle of lies and half truths will thicken until the ending resolves with an unexpected surprise.

“Our theater – says Chiappini – is a popular theater, not purely vernacular, spoken in Livornese, a theater where in the end everyone can recognize themselves in the stories or characters and be part of them as spectators. Our goal is to make the audience have fun, to detach them from their everyday thoughts and to give them a moment of lightness and joy without forgetting to convey a message to those who watch us.” On stage for this comedy there will be: Marco Chiappini, Stefano Valdiserri, Cristina Silvestri, Mario Botteghi, Paola Pacelli, Ilaria Pellegrini, Claudio Pulia, Stefania Bagaglini, Jessica Scheggi, Enrico Napoli. The artistic direction is entrusted to Manuela Boldrini.
