The Photographic Circle DLF Livorno blows out 60 candles, an exhibition entitled “The train, metaphor of life”

From September 19 to 27, 2026, the Museum of the City of Livorno – Bottini dell’Olio will host the photographic exhibition “The train, metaphor of life”, a celebratory event for the 60th anniversary of the Livorno DLF Photographic Circle (1966–2026).

Not just a simple exhibition of railway images, but a collective story about the journey of existence: waiting, departures, encounters, solitudes, memory, and hope. Over 100 original photographs will accompany the visitor on an emotional journey through past and present.

The exhibition stems from the idea that photography also means sharing experiences, building relationships, and putting photography at the service of culture and the city. Sixty years of activity thus become sixty years of looks, stories, and passion experienced together.

The exhibition, organized with the patronage of FIAF and the City of Livorno, will be free admission and will be open every day from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm. There will also be a bilingual Italian-English catalog, designed also for the numerous visitors coming from cruise ships that dock in Livorno.

The location of the Bottini dell’Olio, in the heart of the historic city and a few minutes from the cruise terminal, makes the initiative a significant opportunity for interaction between the Livorno community and the international public.
