Starting from June 20th, O.A.M.I. in Livorno opens its doors to the city: in the enchanted space of the garden of the structure, at Borgo San Jacopo 136, an event series titled Hortus Conclusus – a garden of culture and entertainment for all will begin.
The initiative, whose name is inspired by medieval enclosed gardens, symbols of reflection and growth, aims to create an open space for dialogue, learning, and sharing.
Thursdays at the O.A.M.I. garden will offer the city conferences on photography, art, philosophy, music, theater, and classical culture, bringing together a diverse group of well-known and appreciated professionals and intellectuals: from the comedian Paolo Migone to the photographer and former culture councilor of Livorno, Serafino Fasulo, from the philosopher and aesthetics professor Massimo Carboni to the internationally renowned artist Gino Sabatino Odoardi, from the Roman law historian Aniello Parma to the theater director and high school teacher Lamberto Giannini, ending with the musician and musicologist Marco Lenzi and the same scientific director of the event and director of the O.A.M.I. center, the psychoanalyst Pier Giorgio Curti.
A unique blend of expertise that will give life to a rich and stimulating program, designed to engage a diverse audience and promote the integration of all components of the city: “Hortus Conclusus is born from the belief that culture and entertainment are powerful tools for social cohesion,” says Pier Giorgio Curti – “we want to demonstrate that learning can be fun and accessible to all, and that shared laughter can break down barriers”.
The first appointment is on Thursday, June 20th at 9:30 pm: in the 100th anniversary of Kafka’s death, the Hortus Conclusus in Borgo San Jacopo will host a half-serious dialogue on the Metamorphosis by the Prague writer. The protagonists are the comedian Paolo Migone and the psychoanalyst Pier Giorgio Curti.
Paolo Migone is an actor, director, and playwright for theater and television: his humor is corrosive and together with the unique Tuscan sharpness characterizes his unmistakable style. The favorite topic of his shows is the eternal game between men and women, which seems to provide him with inexhaustible creative ideas. His eye is always attentive to contemporary customs and the reality of our time.
Pier Giorgio Curti is a psychoanalyst, philosopher, essayist, and directs the O.A.M.I. Livorno structures.
THE CENTER. O.A.M.I. (Opera assistance for the sick and disabled) has been active for decades in the Livorno area and provides support to disadvantaged people and their families. The services offered, under the umbrella of the Local Health Agency, are the Family House and the Day Center for socialization for mentally disabled adults. It is directed by Dr. Pier Giorgio Curti.
